Sustainability
At Wigge, we apply a long-term sustainability perspective in everything we do; with our clients, colleagues, and matters. We invest heavily in long-term relationships based on integrity and trust.
Wigge wants to work actively to contribute to the sustainable future we all hope for. As a part of this endeavour, we have joined the UN Global Compact – a UN-led initiative which has become the world’s largest association for corporate governance with more than 9,000 members worldwide. Within the framework of the UN Global Compact companies and business organisations work together to incorporate ten basic principles into their operations. These principles are based on human rights, worker’s rights, the environment, and the fight against corruption. You can read more about the UN Global Compact here.
At Wigge, a large number of lawyers are engaged in sustainability-related work, something that contributes to a constructive and resilient approach in our advice.
At Wigge, we have specifically identified four of the United Nation’s Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) from Agenda 2030 as particularly important for us as a transaction-based law firm, and where we think that we can make a difference:
- To achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls (SDG 5)
- To reduce inequality within and among countries (SDG 10)
- To ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns (SDG 12)
- To take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts (SDG 13)
We are committed to contributing to these goals by regularly evaluating, analysing and improving how we conduct our business.
